At roughly 7:00 p.m. Indio police officials received notification of the collision which took place near a Kmart.
Upon arriving at the scene, the pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene. He was identified by the coroner’s office as 68-year-old Rick Lee Ebner, of Indio.
Authorities confirmed the driver remained and was cooperative with police Indio police following the collision.
No further details have been released at this time regarding the sequence of events which took place leading up to the collision at the investigation is pending.
