1 Killed, 4 Injured in Industry Crash at Valley Boulevard and Grand Avenue
INDUSTRY, CA (May 10, 2022) – A DUI crash killed a boy and injured several people at Valley Boulevard and Grand Avenue in Industry.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the tragic accident took place on Sunday. Officers reported the wreck at about 2 a.m.
The incident happened on May 8 when a Camry was going east on Valley Boulevard, approaching Grand Avenue, in Industry. At the same time, a Chrysler Town & Country minivan was traveling north on Grand.
Deputies said the vehicles then collided at the intersection of Valley Boulevard and Grand Avenue. The minivan slammed into a fire hydrant nearby.
The four occupants of the Chrysler ended up hurt as a result of the collision. Paramedics rushed them to the hospital where, an 8-year-old boy died.
DUI Driver Hits Minivan
His sister, a 12-year-old girl, survived with critical injuries. Their mother and another woman riding with them complained of neck and back pain.
The male driver of the Camry sustained a leg injury following the wreck. Medical personnel took all four patients to the hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, deputies believed that the man was under the influence when he struck the minivan.
They soon arrested him on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. Officers forced the area of Valley Boulevard and Grand Avenue to shut down for hours after the incident.
Witnesses claimed that the suspect ran a red light and hit the victims. The cause of the Industry crash is still under investigation.
