School Bus, 2 Cars Crash at Manchester and Van Ness Avenues in Inglewood
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Sept. 25, 2019) — Nine children and one male driver were injured in a collision early Wednesday morning involving a loaded Los Angeles Unified School District school bus.
The collision was reported just before 7:30 a.m. at Manchester Avenue and South Van Ness Avenue. A school bus carrying 56 students collided with a grey PT Cruiser and a Toyota, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The PT Cruiser suffered major front-end damage in the collision when it struck the driver’s side of the school bus. The white Toyota hit the PT Cruiser’s front end.
Paramedics and firefighters responded to the school bus crash and transported nine of the students aboard the bus to a hospital as well as the driver from the PT Cruiser, according to the California Highway Patrol’s traffic incident log. The children ranged in age from 8 to 10 years old, the LAFD said.
The cause is under investigation to determine fault.
