Ingrid Argueta, 34, Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in South Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES (July 15, 2017) – A woman who was left on life support after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on 79th Street last week was declared dead by doctors Thursday, according to NBC Los Angeles.
In an article by KTLA, Los Angeles Police Department said the accident took place around 10:45 p.m. on July 7, in the Manchester Square neighborhood.
NBC Los Angeles wrote that the victim, 34-year-old Ingrid Argueta, was walking west on 79th Street when she was hit by a vehicle traveling north on Denker Avenue. She was not in the crosswalk when she was struck.
The driver of the car did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.
Police affirmed that Argueta was taken to the hospital with cranial bleeding, a laceration to the back of her head, abrasions and fractured legs. She had been placed on life support since then, but on July 13, doctors pronounced her dead.
Argueta was expected to be be taken off life support between Thursday and Friday. It is still unknown if the procedure was conducted.
