Multi-Vehicle Santa Ana Crash on the I-5 Freeway
SANTA ANA, Calif. (June 18, 2021) — An Interstate 5 Freeway crash happened Friday morning near Grand Avenue in Santa Ana.
The California Highway Patrol reports four vehicles collided in the HOV and No. 1 lanes near Grand Avenue.
A white Honda Accord, a white Dodge Ram pickup truck, a white construction van and a fourth vehicles collided due to unknown circumstances.
The collision resulted in major injuries for at least one of the vehicle’s occupants. Paramedics responded to transport the injured to a local hospital for further treatment.
The CHP did not mention how many people were hurt in the collision.
Meanwhile, a second traffic accident happened about 8:04 a.m. in the same area, but about 400 feet south of the first collision in the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes.
Investigators seek to determine the cause of both of these collisions as well as liability.
