Investigation into Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Carmel Valley Road

Eric Esquivel, 24, Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Sept. 1, 2026) – Authorities are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash last month that claimed the life of a 24-year-old man early August 10th on Carmel Valley Road.

The collision happened around 3 a.m. in the 13700 block of Carmel Valley Road, leaving Eric Esquivel, 24, of San Diego, with fatal injuries.

The San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Eric Francisco Alvarez Esquivel.

Detectives from the San Diego Police Department are investigating the crash and working to locate the suspect involved. However, they are urging the public to come forward and share any details that might help them identify the driver or vehicle involved.
