IONE (July 28, 2016)– According to a California Highway Patrol report, a deadly head-on crash resulted in the death of one and serious injuries to another Monday morning, July 25th, in Amador County.
The incident occurred at roughly 8:00 a.m. on Michigan Bar Road also known as Highway 104 next to where the California Fire Academy is located.
The collision was triggered by a woman driving a sedan who veered into oncoming traffic directly into the path of a driver in a pickup truck.
The pickup driver was seriously injured and quickly rushed to a medical center in the Sacramento County area.
The driver of the sedan identified as Sandi McDonell, 61, sadly did not survive the collision.
Details regarding the crash remain under investigation.
