Irene Aleo Killed, 3 Injured in West Covina Crash on 10 Freeway Thursday
WEST COVINA (August 10, 2018) – One was killed and three were injured after a traffic collision on the Interstate 10 Freeway early Thursday, according to My LA News.
The deceased victim, identified as 19-year-old Irene Aleo, died after the tragic accident at about 2 a.m., west of Grand Avenue.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said for an unknown reason a 2015 Hyundai Elantra rear-ended a 2014 Toyota Prius on the eastbound 10 freeway. The Hyundai ended up in the No. 1 lane while the Toyota came to a stop on the right freeway shoulder.

The driver and three passengers of the Elentra, one of them was Aleo, exited their vehicle as a result of the initial crash. A few moments later, the Hyundai was struck by a 1999 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and was ultimately pushed into the four people.
The operator of the Hyundai, a 19-year-old man, and one of his passengers, a 18-year-old woman, suffered major injuries upon impact. Aleo was pronounced dead at the scene while the fourth party, a 19-year-old man, sustained minor wounds. All are from Upland.
Meanwhile, the occupants of both the Tacoma and the Prius driver were unharmed in the wreck. The incident remains under investigation.
