Frank Scotty Richardson Arrested for Manteca DUI Crash
MANTECA (June 30, 2017)- A man identified as Ireneo Miguel Rodriguez, 74, of Modesto, was killed by a drunk driver Sunday, June 25, on Highway 99 at the Lathrop Road exit, per the Modesto Bee.
The incident took place at around 11:00 p.m. when Rodriguez’s son, Carlos Rodriguez, vehicle broke down after experiencing an electrical malfunction. Carlos phoned his father to come help him assist with the vehicle as he pulled his 1990 Ford Econoline to the side of the road.

Ireneo Migeul Rodriguez arrived at the location where his son’s vehicle had broken down, parked, and stepped out of his vehicle to help. Moments after stepping out, a 2009 Ford F-150 driven by Frank Scotty Richardson, 41, slammed into Ireneo Miguel and struck the 2003 Dodge Caravan he had been driving.
The collision tragically caused fatal injuries to Miguel Rodriguez who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Miguel Rodriguez’s wife, Teresa Amezola, suffered minor injuries.
Meanwhile, Richardson drove off away from the scene but was found a short while later at his residence. He was arrested and taken to San Joaquin County Jail with his bail set at $1.2 million. He faces charges of felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter.
