
Irma Alvarado, 72, Killed in Fresno Crash at Ashlan and Angus
FRESNO, CA (April 24, 2023) – Irma Alvarado was killed after a car crash at Ashlan and Angus avenues in Fresno.
The coroner’s office identified the 72-year-old Clovis woman as the victim in the fatal wreck which took place last week on Friday.
The incident happened when Irma Alvarado was driving in the area of East Ashlan and North Angus avenues in Fresno. Police said she then made a turn in front of another vehicle.
Woman, 22, Injured in Wreck
In the process, the two cars collided at the intersection. The Fresno Bee wrote that the collision occurred on April 21 at about 5:50 p.m.
One of the vehicles involved ended up on a lawn as a result of the accident. Irma Alvarado sustained critical injuries following the crash.
Paramedics rushed the elderly driver to a hospital, where she soon died. Medical personnel transported the other motorist, a 22-year-old woman, and listed her in stable condition.
Meanwhile, police forced eastbound Ashlan and Angus to shut down for a time after the wreck. The cause of the Fresno crash is still under investigation.
