IRVINE, California (December 9, 2016) – A man was critically injured, a mother and child were hurt following a two-vehicle crash Thursday night on Portola Parkway, according to the Orange County Register.
The collision took place about 9 p.m. between a Mercedes-Benz and a white pickup truck near the Lambert Ranch housing development.
The Orange County Fire Authority responded to help the injured. A man who was in the pickup truck was extricated by firefighters using the Jaws of Life to cut him free. He was rushed to a hospital by helicopter by 10 p.m.
A mother and her child who were in the Mercedes were also hospitalized at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and liability.
