1 Hospitalized After Collision on Santa Ana (5) Freeway Sunday
Irvine, CA (August 29, 2021) – At least one person suffered injuries following a car accident that occurred on Interstate 5, also known as Santa Ana Freeway, Sunday evening.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a car crash took place in the northbound side of the freeway at Culver Drive. Initial records indicated the wreck involved a red pickup truck, and a silver Kia SUV. For an unknown reason, the two motorists collided on the freeway around 7:15 p.m.
When emergency crews arrived at the site, they found the red pickup disabled; and facing the wrong direction on the right-hand shoulder of Interstate 5.

Responding paramedics immediately attended to all possible victims in the crash. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed one person suffered minor injuries as a result of the wreck. The CHP log mentioned an ambulance transported the patient to a hospital for treatment.
Several factors surrounding the car accident on Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Irvine remained unclear. Given that, investigators continue to work to determine the precise cause of the collision.
