1 Seriously Injured in Irvine Crash on 5 Freeway Near Yale and Culver
IRVINE, CA (August 23, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on the 5 Freeway in Irvine.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the wreck occurred on Monday morning. Officers reported the accident at about 8:19 a.m.
CHP said four vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the city of Irvine. They crashed on the northbound side of the 5 Freeway near Yale Avenue and Culver Drive.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found one person who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not release the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway to shut down for more than one hour following the wreck. The cause of the Irvine crash is still under investigation.
