IRVINE, California (April 14, 2016) — A woman in her 20s crashed her Hyundai Sonata into an Alters Ice Cream shop Wednesday night, injuring two teenage girls who were inside the store in the 2700 block of Alton Parkway, according to a report by the Irvine Police Department.
The 9 p.m. crash took place at the Diamond Jamboree shopping mall. The female driver was also injured and taken to Orange Global Medical Center in Santa Ana for treatment. The two teenagers who were hurt were transported to a children’s hospital in Orange for minor injuries.
The cause of the crash was not disclosed at this time, but alcohol and drugs have not been ruled out at this time.
