1 Killed, 3 Injured in Irvine Crash on Southbound 5 Freeway at Yale Avenue
IRVINE, CA (November 14, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and injured several others on the 5 Freeway and Yale Avenue in Irvine.
According to an article published by the Orange County Register, the tragic accident took place on Sunday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 2:12 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol said a black sedan and several other vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Irvine. They crashed on the southbound 5 Freeway at Yale Avenue.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and confirmed that one person died as a result of the collision. At least three other people ended up hurt due to the impact.
Medical personnel then rushed the patients to hospitals for treatment of unspecified injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of the 5 Freeway to shut down at Yale Avenue following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Irvine crash is still under investigation.
