1 Killed, 2 Injured in Crash on Irvine Boulevard Near Sand Canyon Avenue
IRVINE, CA (June 3, 2023) – A crash killed one person and injured two others near Irvine Boulevard and Sand Canyon Avenue in Irvine.
According to The Orange County Register and FOX 11 News, the tragic accident took place on Saturday evening. Officers reported the wreck on June 3 at about 5:51 p.m.
Irvine police said the incident happened when two cars collided for an unknown reason in the city. The vehicles crashed on Irvine Boulevard east of Sand Canyon Avenue.
2 Cars Collide
The reports described the cars as a white BMW 430i and a gold Lexus RX300. The 47-year-old woman seated in the backseat of the BMW sustained critical injuries as a result of the collision.
Paramedics rushed her to a hospital, where she soon died. Two other passengers of the BMW survived the accident with non-life-threatening injuries.
Medical personnel transported both patients for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Officers forced a stretch of Irvine to shut down at Sand Canyon for a time following the wreck. Meanwhile, the cause of the fatal crash is still under investigation.
