Injury Car Accident on Costa Mesa Freeway Saturday
Irvine, CA (July 4, 2021) – At least one person suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run crash on State Route 55, also known as Costa Mesa Freeway, Saturday evening.
The California Highway Patrol group said a traffic accident took place in the northbound side of SR-55 near Interstate 405 in Irvine. At this time, the exact number of cars involved in the wreck remained unclear.
Shortly after 7:08 p.m., medical personnel arrived at the crash site and rendered aid to all possible victims. The CHP dispatch confirmed at least one person sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The name of the victim, and the extent of their injuries remained undisclosed pending confirmation.

Authorities mentioned a party involved in the crash fled the scene before police arrived. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
