As Train Approaches Witnesses Pull Injured Person From Vehicle Stuck on Metrolink Tracks
IRWINDALE, Calif. (Jan. 16, 2020) – – Good Samaritans reportedly pulled an injured person from a vehicle stuck on the Metrolink tracks as a train was approaching the two-vehicle wreck Wednesday morning in Irwindale.
The crash took place about 8:05 a.m. near Azusa Canyon Road and Los Angeles Street. One of the vehicles wound up being pushed onto the railroad tracks. It was blocking the tracks as the train was approaching, according to the Irwindale Police Department.
Witnesses who saw the crash rushed to help the injured person who was stuck in the Toyota Camry. Meanwhile, the crew aboard the Metrolink train saw the crash ahead and were able to stop the train from hitting the crashed vehicle.
Paramedics responded and rushed three adults involved in the crash to a hospital They were treated for minor injuries.
The Inglewood Police Department is heading up the investigation.
