Del Rio on Motorcycle Collides with Car Driven by Pena
The accident took place about 12:30 a.m., east of Maine Avenue.
As per the article, Irwindale police and Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner said 22-year-old Erick Medin Del Rio was riding his motorcycle east in the No. 1 lane of Los Angeles Street when he collided with a white Toyota Scion driven by 38-year-old Oscar Pena.
Del Rio slammed into the driver-side door of the Scion as Pena was exiting the parking lot of AMVETS post 113 and turning onto westbound Los Angeles Street.
Officials affirmed that both Del Rio and Pena, from Baldwin Park and Ontario respectively, died at the scene.
Meanwhile, police added that a female passenger in the Scion was transported to a trauma center with unspecified injuries. Her name and condition at this time remained unknown.
The incident is still under investigation.
