IRWINDALE (August 25, 2017) – A traffic collision seriously injured a motorcyclist at Arrow Highway and Maine Avenue on Friday afternoon, according to San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
The accident occurred about 1:20 p.m. on the border between Irwindale and Baldwin Park.
As per the article, Irwindale police said a 19-year-old West Covina man was riding his motorcycle east on Arrow Highway when at the same time a Mitsubishi SUV was making a left turn from westbound Arrow Highway onto southbound Maine Avenue.

The two then collided in the intersection.
Police affirmed that the rider was unresponsive but had a pulse as he was being taken to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center with major injuries. The name and condition of the patient remained unknown.
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV stopped following the crash and cooperated with the officials. The incident prompted all eastbound lanes of Arrow Highway and Live Oak Avenue and the northbound lanes of Maine Avenue to be closed as the authorities conducted their investigation.
There are several questions that need to be resolved in order to determine the cause of the crash. Was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs a factor? Did excessive speed or distracted driving play a role? Who had the right of way at the time of the collision? Did any of the motorists show negligence or recklessness at some point?
