Isaac Garcia, 18, Killed in San Diego Accident on 8 Freeway; 2 Men Injured
SAN DIEGO (May 22, 2018) – A man killed after an alleged hit-and-run collision along the Interstate 8 Freeway last week has been identified as Isaac Garcia, according to CBS 8 San Diego.
The 18-year-old El Cajon resident was a victim of a deadly crash which occurred on May 17 at about 1:30 p.m. near Waring Road in the Mission Valley neighborhood.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said 20-year-old Sajjad Hameed Ismael was speeding in a 2001 Toyota Avalon west on the 8 Freeway when he rear-ended a 2017 Toyota Prius. He then swerved into a center median, struck several trees and went back onto the freeway.

Garcia, who was riding as a left rear passenger in the Toyota, was pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP affirmed that a male occupant in the front seat was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital with severe trauma while another male in the right rear seat suffered minor wounds and was treated at the crash site. Their names were not released.
Meanwhile, Ismael fled on foot but was later located on Mission Gorge Road in Grantville and was taken into custody. The suspect was ultimately booked into county jail on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run causing death, and reckless driving.
