Man, 24, Struck and Killed at I-5 Freeway Off Ramp
REDDING, Calif. (Nov. 20, 2024) — Isaac James Palacio, 24, died in a pedestrian accident early Sunday near the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway off-ramp and East Cypress Avenue in Redding.
The traffic accident occurred around 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17th, according to the traffic report.
A driver in a Ford Fiesta struck the young man as ran from the left to the right side of the roadway, according to ABC 7 News and the California Highway Patrol.
The 60-year-old Anderson resident driving the Ford stopped after the crash. However, another a 38-year-old driver from Dallas, Texas in a 2012 Ford struck the man a second time while he was in the road.
The California Highway Patrol and the Shasta County Coroner’s Office are heading up the investigation into the Redding accident.
