Isidro Galvez, 52; and Erid Ortega, 19, Injured in Lompoc Valley Crash on Highway 1
LOMPOC, CA (June 6, 2023) – A fatal crash left Isidro Galvez and Erid Ortega injured on Highway 1 in the Lompoc Valley.
The California Highway Patrol identified the two Lompoc men as victims in the wreck which took place on Tuesday.
The incident happened when Isidro Galvez, 52, was driving a 2017 Chevy pickup truck with Erid Ortega, 19, as his passenger in the Lompoc Valley. The two were traveling north on Highway 1.
At the same time, a 2008 Kia sedan was going south. For an unknown reason, the Kia drifted left into the northbound lanes into the path of the Chevrolet.
3 Killed in Wreck
In the process, the sedan slammed head-on into the pickup truck south of Constellation Road. The Lompoc Record and Noozhawk wrote that the collision occurred on June 6 shortly before 6 a.m.
Isidro Galvez and Erid Ortega sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics rushed them to the Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The three people riding the Kia died following the accident. The reports described the deceased parties as the male driver and two female passengers.
Meanwhile, officers forced the northbound side of Highway 1 to shut down for more than two hours after the wreck. The cause of the Lompoc Valley crash is still under investigation.
