Car Hits Bike at Isla Vista Intersection in Santa Barbara Area
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (August 15, 2024) — A driver struck a person riding a bicycle Thursday at Camino Pescadero and Sabado Tarde Road in Isla Vista, Santa Barbara County.
The minor-injury collision occurred at 11:51 a.m. on August 15th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a driver in a silver Toyota Prius struck the bicyclist due to unknown circumstances at the Isla Vista intersection. There are stop signs only in one direction on Sabado Tarde Road for traffic crossing into Camino Pescadero.
Paramedics responded to help the injured rider, but there are no further details.
A tow truck removed the damaged vehicle from the crash scene.
The local police department is heading up the investigation.
