Pedestrian Killed in Ivanhoe Crash at Road 160 and Freedom Avenue
IVANHOE, CA (October 12, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a crash at Road 160 and Freedom Avenue in Ivanhoe.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the fatal accident took place on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the incident at about 3:37 p.m.
CHP said a white Dodge Ram struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Ivanhoe. The pickup truck hit the person at the intersection of Road 160 and Freedom Avenue.
Victim Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived at the scene near Avenue 328. They found the victim who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the patient dead. The name of the deceased party remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the Dodge stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim. The cause of the Ivanhoe pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the area of Road 160 and Freedom Avenue to shut down for a time following the collision.
