Ivonne Vivas, 48, Killed in Bakersfield Pedestrian Crash on Reina Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 8, 2021) – Ivonne Vivas was killed after a pedestrian crash on Reina Road in Bakersfield.

The Coroner’s Office identified the 48-year-old Bakersfield woman as the victim of the fatal collision which occurred on Wednesday morning.
The incident happened when a vehicle struck Ivonne Lizbeth Vivas in the 1600 block of Reina Road in Bakersfield. The driver, a 17-year-old girl, hit her for an unknown reason.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the woman lying near the sidewalk. They also located two pedestrians down on the ground but unharmed.
Pedestrian Hit by Car
Bakersfield police said Ivonne Vivas sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. Medical personnel soon pronounced her dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the teen motorist stopped after hitting the victim and stayed at the site. She cooperated with the officials.
The Bakersfield Californian and Kern Golden Empire wrote that the crash took place at about 7:08 a.m. Officers forced a stretch of Reina Road to shut down for hours following the collision.
The cause of the Bakersfield pedestrian accident is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call BPD at 661-327-7111.
