Jackson George, 34, ID’d as DUI Driver in Palm Springs Fatal Car Crash
PALM SPRINGS, CA (July 3, 2022) – Authorities detained Jackson George after a fatal DUI crash on Highway 111 in Palm Springs.
Police determined that the 34-year-old Whitewater man was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place on Sunday.
The incident began when Jackson George was driving at high rate of speed on Highway 111, north of Gateway Drive, in Palm Springs.
In the process, he struck the back of another car. The rear-ended vehicle obtained major damage to its rear section as a result of the collision.
Man Killed, Woman injured in Wreck
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced a 56-year-old man riding as a passenger in the victim car dead at the scene.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 55-year-old woman and Jackson George sustained minor injuries following the wreck. Paramedics rushed them to a hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. The Desert Sun and KESQ News wrote that the accident occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m.
Police soon charged the suspect for murder. Records showed that authorities previously arrested Jackson George out of state for a DUI.
The Palm Springs DUI crash is still under investigation.
