Jackson Williams, 27, Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Oceanside Boulevard
OCEANSIDE, CA (July 17, 2021) – Jackson Williams was killed after a hit-and-run crash on Oceanside Boulevard in Oceanside.
Police identified the 27-year-old Carlsbad man as the victim in the fatal collision which took place on Thursday night.
The incident happened on July 15 when Jackson Williams was riding a bicycle on Oceanside Boulevard. For an unknown reason, a dark-colored vehicle struck him.
The San Diego Union-Tribune and ABC 10 News wrote that the accident occurred at about 11:30 p.m., just west of the Interstate 5.
Bicyclist Hit by Car in Oceanside
Jackson Williams sustained major head trauma as a result of the Oceanside crash. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found him left lying on the ground. He died at the scene.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver did not stop to render aid to the bicyclist and continued. The motorist soon fled east on Oceanside Boulevard under the Interstate 5.
Officers described the car involved as a black 2014 to 2016 Nissan Versa Note hatchback. The Nissan obtained damage to the front grill, hood and undercarriage after hitting the rider.
The Oceanside hit-and-run crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at 760-435-4651.
