Jacob Chance Howery ID’d as Victim of Hit-and-run Crash
SOUTH SACRAMENTO, Calif. (April 1, 2020) – Jacob Chance Howery, 26, was identified as the pedestrian who died in a hit-and-run crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway, just south of Florin Road,
The collision was reported about 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 25th, according to the Sacramento County Coroner. A southbound vehicle reportedly struck the victim who was standing in the roadway. Several other vehicles also struck the pedestrian, but they stopped.
Now the California Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s help in finding the suspect who fled the scene.
The CHP described the suspect as a man wearing glasses in his 20s, either a Filipino or Hispanic, roughly 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and about 130-140 pounds.
They believe the suspect was driving a silver Honda or Acura sedan that had a 10×10 inch section missing from the left front bumper.
