2 Killed in Small Airplane Crash Identified by Coroner
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, Calif. (Feb. 12, 2019) — Jaeryung Rachel Park, 28, of Los Angeles, and Jungho Ju, 32, of Korea, both died in a small airplane crash on Tuesday, Feb. 5th, according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
The Cessna aircraft went missing after leaving the city of El Monte on route to Las Vegas, Nevada. The missing airplane went down in the mountains west of Highway 62 and North Indian Canyon Drive. The Riverside Sheriff’s Department’s aircraft spotted the downed aircraft from the sky. Police from the Palm Desert Station were alerted about 8:53 p.m. and responded to the scene along with Riverside Mountain Rescue Unit.
An investigation is underway by the National Transportation Safety Bureau and the Federal Aviation Administration.
