3 Killed in Crash on Olympic Boulevard in East Los Angeles
EAST LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 8, 2022) – Jahmai Flores, 18, and Abigail Flores, 19, were among three killed in a solo-vehicle crash on Olympic Boulevard early Friday in East Los Angeles.
UPDATE: Julian Menedes-Guia, 21, also died in the crash on Olympic Boulevard.
The traffic accident happened about 12:30 a.m. on April 8th, near Herbert Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A vehicle occupied by three people were traveling at “at a high rate of speed” when it crashed into a tree and caught fire. The three people were pronounced dead at the scene.
Jahmai Flores and Abigail Flores are siblings, according to Fox11, and the third person was the driver identified as Julian Menedes-Guia.
All three people were traveling in a 1997 Volkswagen Jetta. The car headed eastbound on Olympic Boulevard approaching Herbert Avenue. The car reportedly went through the intersection before it veered to the right and slammed into the south curb before it hit a tree.
Meanwhile, a driver in a big rig truck stopped to try and extinguish the flames.
The CHP is investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash. Witnesses may call the CHP at 323-980-4600.
