Fatal Hit-and-run Crash; Suspect Christian Ruvalcaba Arrested
PALM DESERT, Calif. (April 12, 2023) – Jaime Dodge, 34, of Palm Desert, died following a hit-and-run pedestrian accident Monday night on Highway 111 and Deep Canyon Drive.
The 34-year-old man died at a hospital after being struck by a motorist around 9:30 p.m. on April 10th at the Palm Desert intersection, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Police later arrested a man suspected of the driving a silver Honda CRV involved in the hit and run collision in the Beaumont area, police said.
Palm Desert Pedestrian Accident
The Palm Desert sheriff’s station sent officers to the scene of the crash and located Jaime Dodge in the roadway with major injuries. Paramedics transported the injured man to Desert Reginal Medical Center in Palm Springs. Sadly, the Palm Desert man later died at the hospital around 10 p.m., the report said.
Meanwhile, police located the suspect Christian Ruvalcaba, 21, of Palm Desert. Authorities determined the alleged driver was under the influence of drugs and arrested him on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, DUI causing injury and vehicular manslaughter. He was booked into John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
