Jaime Sandoval, 38, Injured in Shafter Fatal Crash on Palm Avenue
SHAFTER, CA (November 27, 2021) – A fatal crash left Jaime Sandoval injured near Palm Avenue and Merced Avenue northwest of Shafter.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 38-year-old Wasco man as the victim of the collision which took place on Friday.
The incident began when Jaime Sandoval was driving a 2014 Nissan Sentra south on Palm Avenue, north of Fresno Avenue, northwest of Shafter.
At the same time, a 24-year-old man was riding a Suzuki motorcycle at a high rate of speed north. CHP said motorcyclist braked hard and then rolled onto its left side.
Motorcyclist Killed in Wreck
In the process, the rider ended up ejected to the southbound lane where he struck the front left side of the Nissan. The two collided near Merced Avenue.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorcyclist died at the scene. Officers forced Palm Avenue to shut down near Fresno Avenue for about two and half hours following the wreck.
