Motorcyclist Killed in Clairemont Mesa Crash on Balboa Avenue
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Nov. 1, 2021) – James Patrick Antiller, 26, of National City, died in a collision Friday on Balboa Avenue between his motorcycle and a car in Clairemont Mesa.
The deadly collision happened just before 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29th in the 5900 block of Balboa Avenue between Genesee Avenue and Mount Alifan Drive.
A 64-year-old woman driving westbound on Balboa Avenue in a Chevrolet Malibu reportedly turned left into a shopping center in front of the eastbound Yamaha R6 sport bike driven by James Antiller, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune and FOX 5 News.
Deadly Motorcycle Crash in Clairemont Mesa
The motorcycle reportedly broadsided the front passenger door of the Chevrolet Malibu.
Meanwhile, firefighters and paramedics responded and located the severely injured man in the roadway. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
The San Diego Medical Examiner later identified the victim on their website.
Finally, officials closed down Balboa Avenue, just west of the Interstate 805 Freeway for several hours after the fatal Clairemont Mesa crash.
