Suspected DUI Driver Arrested for Seal Beach Crash; 1 Injured
SEAL BEACH, Calif. (Feb. 12, 2019) – Police arrested an alleged drunk driver on suspicion of causing a fiery crash Sunday at a Chevron gas station at 2950 Westminster Avenue in Seal Beach.
The collision, which took place about 11:25 p.m. on Feb. 10th, left a gas station customer with injuries.
James Eric Chang, 44, of Huntington Beach, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol causing injuries and was being held without bail.
The driver was reportedly heading northbound on Seal Beach Boulevard and allegedly he lost control of his car prior to it crashing into a gas
pump near a customer who was pumping gas into their vehicle, police said.
Paramedics took the injured gas station customer to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The collision caused an estimated $25,000 in damage to the two vehicles and $100,000 in damage to the gas station, police said.
