A driver is killed, passenger injured, Little Valley Road crash
LASSEN COUNTY, Calif. (August 27, 2018) – Driver James E. Clair, 37, of Spaulding died in a solo crash that left his passenger Angel L. Thompson, 40, of Susanville hurt, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision took place about 10 p.m. on Friday, August 24th in the northbound lanes of Little Valley Road, just south of Pittville Road, police said.
Clair’s Dodge reportedly veered off the roadway and onto the east dirt shoulder where it overturned several times. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and died of his injuries. Thompson, who was wearing her seat belt, was not thrown out and survived the crash with injuries. She was transported by paramedics to Mercy Medical Center for moderate injuries.

At this time, it’s unknown what led to this collision. A full investigation is underway to determine what factors were involved.
