Sonora Doctor, 68, Suspect in Deadly Collision Near Manning Avenue
Fresno, CA (October 5, 2021) – Police arrested 68-year-old James Comazzi in relation with a fatal hit-and-run that occurred on Highway 99 on February 10.
According to Your Central Valley, James Comazzi was driving a vehicle heading north on Highway 99. In the area near Manning Avenue, James Comazzi reportedly crashed into a woman helping another person involved in a different collision in the area.
Our sources confirmed the incident resulted in fatal injuries to the Good Samaritan. Responding paramedics sadly pronounced the woman dead.
Meanwhile, James Comazzi took off without trying to provide medical assistance to the victims.
James Comazzi Arrested in Fresno Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 99
The California Highway Patrol spent months investigating the case. Recently, officers apparently received an anonymous tip that led to the identification and location of the hit-and-run suspect.
Police eventually arrested Comazzi, a doctor from Sonora. The man was booked into the Fresno County Jail on Monday night on charges of vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
