James Hewitt, 51, Hit and Injured by Vehicle on Santa Rosa Avenue

DATE OF COLLISION: Tuesday, September 4th
September 5, 2018 – 51-year-old James Hewitt was injured after being struck by a vehicle Santa Rosa Avenue, according to the Press Democrat.
At approximately 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Hewitt, of Santa Rosa, stepped into the southbound lane of Santa Rosa Avenue near East Robles Avenue.
Officials said an oncoming motorist, 24-year-old Robert Yang, of Sacramento, was apparently unable to stop on time to avoid hitting the man. Yang reportedly struck Hewitt, who was reportedly wearing all black at that time.
Major Injury Pedestrian Accident Tuesday in Santa Rosa, September 4
Medical records indicated the pedestrian suffered major injuries, and was taken by ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment. On Wednesday afternoon, Hewitt was listed in serious condition in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
Authorities mentioned Yang was unharmed and stayed at the scene following the accident.
At this time, investigators handling the case continue to work to determine exactly what caused the collision.
