James Maloney, 55, Killed in Riverside Crash Near Indiana and Van Buren
RIVERSIDE, CA (May 17, 2021) – A motorcycle crash near Indiana Avenue and Van Buren Boulevard killed James Maloney in Riverside.
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the 55-year-old Corona man as the victim of the fatal wreck which occurred early Sunday.
The incident happened when James Maloney was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on Indiana Avenue in Riverside. At the same time, a Ford truck was traveling behind him.
Motorcycle Rider Hit by Truck in Riverside
Police said for an unknown reason, the Ford truck slammed into the rear of the motorcycle. The Daily Bulletin wrote that the accident took place on May 16 at about 2:18 a.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and found James Maloney lying on the ground as a result of the crash. They soon pronounced him dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, police did not mention if the driver of the Ford truck stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the motorcyclist. The cause of the Riverside crash is still under investigation.
