LOCATION: Jamestown

DATE OF COLLISION: Friday, December 7th

December 10, 2018- According to the California Highway Patrol, a 3-car collision left a total of seven parties injured in one of the involved vehicles last week at Gilman Springs Road and Highway 120/108.

Reporters indicate that the accident occurred at an unspecified time in the morning between a GMC pickup truck, a van, and a Peterbilt truck.

Driver of GMC Causes Collision

According to officials, the driver of the GMC pickup ID’d as John Galligher, 51, of Modesto, had been traveling along Gilman Springs Road before entering the intersection at Highway 120/108 directly into the path of the van driven by James Park, 70, of Dublin.

A Peterbilt truck driven by Thomas Campbell also became involved after hitting both the GMC and a van.

Inside Park’s van were six passengers all visiting from Korea. They ranged from ages 15-48 as each of the six parties as well as Park were all injured and transported via ambulance to Adventist Health Sonora Hospital.

Traffic was heavily delayed for several hours following the collision while first responders assisted the victims and helped clear the wreckage from off the road.

No additional information has been provided at this time.

California Personal Injury Car Accident Attorney

Based on this news report, the driver of the GMC pickup truck will be held responsible for causing the collision after turning his vehicle into oncoming traffic. Authorities will look into other factors, however, such as whether or not the driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs? Did excessive speed or distracted driving play a role? Was the driver negligent in any other way? We trust officials are looking into these and other factors in order to determine precisely what occurred here to help figure out liability.

In such cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been a factor, James Park, as well as the six other injured passengers, will be entitled to personal injury lawsuit against the driver if she chooses to pursue one. Injured accident victims may seek compensation for damages including medical expenses and hospital bills and pain and suffering.
