Man, 90, Killed in Multi-Vehicle Car Accident
REDDING, Calif. (July 20, 2023) – James Robert, 90, of Redding, died in a multi-vehicle crash July 17th on Airport Road in Redding.
The Redding Police Department is investigating the 11:23 a.m. collision between three motorists at at 8080 Airport Road, just south of Fig Tree Lane, according to Action News Now.
The vehicles involved were a blue PG&E truck, a gold Cadillac sedan and a Honda sedan, police said.
The elderly man was traveling as a passenger in the Cadillac that was heading northbound on Airport Road when its driver attempted to turn into Kent’s Meats parking lot, the report said.
At the same time, a driver in a blue PG&E truck was traveling southbound on Airport Road and it hit the passenger-side door of the Cadillac, police said.
Meanwhile, the driver in the Honda was exiting the parking lot sustained minor damage from the crash.
Paramedics responded and located the passenger from the Cadillac with major injuries, but sadly he died at the scene.
Redding police are investigating the collision to determine fault.
