Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle Near Los Angeles River
Long Beach, CA (February 22, 2022) – James Simmons, a 35-year-old man, died following a hit-and-run collision that occurred on West Anaheim Boulevard on February 2, Wednesday.
The Press Telegram News reported a vehicle struck Simmons, of Long Beach, in the area near the Los Angeles River. Officials mentioned the horrible crash took place shortly after 9 p.m.

When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found the victim unconscious in the roadway. Responding paramedics performed life-saving measures to the pedestrian but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. Police later identified the deceased as James Simmons.
Preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle involved in the catastrophic incident was traveling east on Anaheim Boulevard. After the collision, the driver accelerated and evaded the scene. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
The Long Beach Police Department continue to investigate several unclear factors surrounding the fatal incident on Anaheim Boulevard.
