
NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (Feb. 7, 2023) — James Stuart, 67, of San Diego, died at the hospital Jan. 29th, one month after being struck by a car on East 11th Street in National City.
The pedestrian accident happened about 5:48 p.m. on Dec. 29th in front of 3036 E. 11th Street, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
James Stuart was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego where he later died at 9:01 p.m. on Jan. 29th, officials said.
National City Pedestrian Accident on East 11th Street
The 67-year-old man was struck by a driver in a Honda sedan traveling on East 11th Street.
The motorist reportedly stopped and called 9-1-1 for help after the crash. Paramedics transported the injured man to Scripps Mercy Hospital Emergency Department.
James Stuart was treated at the hospital for multiple blunt force injuries, but other medical issues including Covid-19 contributed to his death on Jan. 29th, the medical examiner said.
The National City Police Department is heading up the investigation.
