Hit-and-Run Accident at Holmes and Shetler Avenues
NAPA, Calif. (November 18, 2018) – James Yeager, 36, was badly injured when his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision at Holmes and Shetler avenues on Saturday, Nov. 17th.
Police recently located the suspect driver and identified her as Alexandra Benay Varellas, 21, of Napa.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist crashed into Varellas’ vehicle when she made a U-turn in front of his bike about 10:28 a.m. He suffered a major foot injury and was taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center where he underwent multiple surgeries to save his foot. He may still face the possibility of losing his foot.
Varellas failed to stop and assist the injured man. Witnesses manged to get a license plate number from her vehicle.
Later in January, Varellas allegedly struck bus driver Mary Jackson, 62, in a pedestrian accident as she jaywalked across Soscol Avenue. Once again, Varellas reportedly left the scene without stopping to help the victim, the Napa Valley Register said.
