Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-run Crash in Jamul
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. (July 27, 2018) — A pedestrian was struck and killed early Friday morning in a suspected hit-and-run collision on state Route 94, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 3:29 a.m. this morning. The person was struck by a pickup truck in the roadway who fled the scene.
A driver in a white Toyota truck came upon the scene and used their vehicle to block the person from being struck again. Meanwhile, another witness followed the suspect’s red pickup truck and saw it heading towards a nearby 7-11 convenience store.
It’s unknown at this time whether police eventually caught the suspect.
Traffic Accident Investigation
At this time, it’s unknown if the driver has been located and whether or not charges will be filed against them. The collision remains under investigation.
