LA QUINTA, California (Feb. 27, 2017) — Jana Ray Sternlieb, 55, of Rancho Mirage was arrested following a hit-and-run crash on Washington Street Saturday night and she was also charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
The collision took place about 10:32 p.m. when the 2014 Toyota Sternlieb was allegedly driving struck a motorist in a 2005 Mercedes coupe at the intersection with Washington and Avenue 50. Sternlieb allegedly continued driving northbound on Washington Street without stopping as required under California law.
The driver in the other vehicle sustained minor injuries in the crash. The La Quinta Police Department arrested Sternlieb on hit-and-run and DUI charges.
