Woman Killed in Accident on San Jacinto Avenue
HEMET, Calif. (May 17, 2018) — Jane Dasilva, 49, of Hemet, was killed last night in the 600 block of N. San Jacinto Avenue when she was struck by a driver, just south of E. Menlo Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
The woman was found in the roadway about 10:16 p.m last night and died within minutes of police arriving.
Police are investigating the crash, but early indications are she was not in a marked crosswalk and was crossing in a dark area of the roadway. The driver of a silver coupe with heavy front-end damage was left in the middle of the roadway. The driver who struck the victim remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
