The accident occurred about 8:30 a.m. on West El Campo Road, just north of Par View Lane.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said Jana Hayashi was running south on El Campo when she was struck by a vehicle which was also traveling in the same direction.
Hayashi was left lying on the road injured. She was immediately transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo, where she was listed in serious condition.
KSBY reported the victim is 22 years old.
