4 Killed in Crash on Bonds Flat Road are Identified
Tuolumne County, Calif. (June 4, 2024) — Janelle Hall, 33, has been identified as one of four people killed in a head-on crash near Bonds Flat Road and La Grange Road in Tuolumne County.
The three others who died were identified as Michael Keith, 56, and his passengers, Donna Yarnal, 66, Cindi Schuchterman, 65.
The two-vehicle traffic accident occurred at around 5:10 p.m. on May 31st, just west of the Don Pedro Reservoir, according to Fox 40 News and the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported Michael Keith was allegedly driving a pickup truck with three passengers and they were traveling northbound on Bonds Flat Road.
However, the pickup truck was traveling at 100 mph when its driver attempted to pass another vehicle. The motorist allegedly crossed over the double yellow lines of the roadway and crashed head-on into Janelle Hall’s oncoming southbound SUV.
The violent impact left the front ends of both vehicles stuck together in a southbound lane and the shoulder of the roadway.
Paramedics responded, but both drivers and the two passengers from the pickup truck died at the scene of the crash. All of the occupants were wearing seatbelts.
The case remains under investigation.
