Janet Jimenez, 20, Injured in Car Accident on SR-1 Monday
ORCUTT, Ca (August 19, 2020) – Two people, including a DUI suspect, suffered injuries following a solo-car crash on Highway 1 Monday.
According to Santa Marita Times, 22-year-old Raquel Jiminez-Zurita was at the wheel of a 2017 Toyota Camry traveling north on SR-1. Due to alcohol impairment, Jiminez-Zurita lost control of their vehicle and rolled over in the area near Solomon Road.
First responders found the car ripped into two pieces.
Our sources indicated the driver, and a female passenger both managed to self-extricate after the mishap. Two land ambulances transported the patients to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria for treatment of unknown injuries.
Officials later identified the passenger as 22-year-old Janet Jimenez, of Santa Maria.
DUI Suspect Raquel Jiminez-Zurita Arrested After Major Car Crash in Orcutt
Following an investigation, police arrested Jiminez-Zurita on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The suspect was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail following her release from the medical facility.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
